Joan Paul

Men Only - Joan Paul

I spotted this the other day while listing some books for sale: Joan Paul in the December 1966 issue of Men Only, with the accompanying mumbo jumbo below.

She Wants To Crack The Male Barrier

“Doesn’t every girl want to marry a millionaire?”
Joan Paul had a look that contained the right balance of incredulity and impishness as she put this question.
She was talking about careers at the time. Just to suggest that she was half-joking, Joan added: “Anyway, there are not many young good-looking one available.”

This 22-year-old maid of Kent has lived and worked in London as a secretary for the past year. She has also been a croupier at a London club.
Joan wants to travel and sees her best chance by getting a job as a croupier abroad. But on the Continent, it was pointed out, croupiers are usually men.
"Then I'll just have to break through the male barrier," she retorted.
When Joan talks of travel she has sunny countries in mind. She loves the sun, music-classical and pop-and modern dancing.
Her pet hates? The English weather and tapioca pudding.

Discovered Slides - Set 1

Mystery Model

These three pictures come from a mixed selection of colour slides that I recently discovered. I have no idea where they came from or their age, but I suspect the 1980s, just because of the hairstyles and settings. Most are not suitable to be shown here. However, I do have another couple of sets that are suitable and will appear later this month. They're just a bit different and possibly not been shown anywhere else. What I like about them is that they are all very amateur, taken by budding photographers, boyfriends, or husbands, poorly posed in home situations, with a lot of fun being had during and after the taking.

These first three pictures show a young woman posing for the camera in her underwear. She has really small breasts, but what's interesting is that her nipples are pierced. That's not uncommon nowadays, but 40-plus years ago it was more unusual, I'm sure, but she just doesn’t look the type to me. There are a few more pictures of her that are more revealing, and they are actually all in colour, so never judge a book by its cover.

They are all up for sale on eBay, but a few of the sets have already been removed, and I am not sure why, so they will appear on the Brazen sales site.

Delta Pictures - Magazines

Delta Pictures

Many thanks again to TocoFan for his comments on the Delta Pictures post. The girl featured in the Parisiennes book is we think Maria Montez, who had a couple of ToCo appearances in Spick No. 237 and Beautiful Britons No. 217. The other girl featured with Maria in the scan that TocoFan sent in is Helena McGuire, who was seen just once in Spick and Span Extra No. 50. These sets and pictures tie in nicely with TocoFan’s comments, as all those pictures appeared in magazines published in late 1973 and early 1974.

The gallery shows the scanned images sent in by TocoFan, along with pictures from The Parisiennes book and the photos used in the ToCo book sets featuring Helena and Maria. Judge for yourselves.

I do find it hard to believe that nobody has any more information on these Delta books, which are quite nice. Surely, someone must have collected them and know a little more about them or the publisher. Contact me privately if you don’t want to leave a comment. It is just nice to keep all this information up to date.

Check Maria's and Helena’s tags below to see the original ToCo sets.

Sally McGregor

Sally And The Siamese

Two more pictures of Sally McGregor kneeling in front of the fireplace, admiring the long-necked Siamese cat ornament. I think most of us here would be happy to have Sally stroke our Siamese cat ornament. Great pictures.

Sally McGregor

Flower Arranging

Sally McGregor or Angela Perkins. Sally only appeared for ToCo four times, with three of those appearances under the name of Angela Perkins. These are great pictures, of which I have a few more that I hope to show over the next few weeks. These two pictures were never published in a magazine but were sold as prints.

Vintage Stockings Archive

Mystery Model

I have a number of interesting sets of digital images that came with the transfer of the Vintage Stockings Archive drives. This is one of them. I have spent a little time cleaning them up a bit but have no idea of their origins, but she does look oddly familiar, any extra information is always welcome and helpful. Most of all enjoy them.

Wanda Liddell

Gone Blonde

Take a note, chaps. Your latest favourite glamour bird WANDA LIDDELL has gone blonde. We thought we'd tell you in case you missed her when she was passing by in Bond Street.
Wanda, from Canada, wears her blonde look on alternate days, and this so confuses the stage manager of the theatre where she works that he thinks he's going colour-blind.
Of course, if he kept his eye on her shape instead of her hair, he'd know who she was to the last inch.
Wanda measures 38-24-36, and you can't get confused about that. You can get excited, naturally-who wouldn't?
But don't get confused or you'll never get a grip on your ambitions.

Spick No 262 - September 1975

Vintage Stockings Archive - Mystery Model

The final four pictures from the mystery model print set. Sadly, she still has no name, and I have no more pictures of her to post. I hope they have been fun and enjoyable. What we can say, though, is that whoever she is, she certainly is a very pretty girl. If you are interested in buying this set of 10 prints, please contact me.
