Photographic Clubs

I have called this post amateur hour because I think that’s where these prints originated from an amateur photographer’s collection. 

Many decades ago, I also belonged to an amateur photographer’s club and at the time had some really nice equipment. I wish I still had it. 

Occasionally, the members of the club would all contribute to hiring a model for a club night or special event, the model was more often than not an amateur herself, earning a few extra quid on the side. Members would then get to direct her and take as many pictures as they wanted, all film of course, in those days, so snapping was not quite as mad as it is nowadays. It was all very above board, and topless was normally as far as it ever went, but it was fun and certainly exciting, even though often a little awkward at times with 20 or so men directing their cameras at some poor girl who was trying to follow our very vague instructions for those that had the courage to ask. 

The majority of us just took as many pictures as we could afford. I was fortunate to have my own darkroom at the time, so I did not have to run the gauntlet of the chemist a week later, and at the end of it, there was no uploading to the internet, just hoarding your own prints for your own enjoyment. Great fun.

Stephanie, it says, works in TV—who knows. What I do know is that she is a pretty girl who I am sure would have been very popular in front of the camera or behind the scenes. Scanned pictures from the 1970s.

Liza works at the laundrette; that's what it says on the back of the print. Do you think those were her work clothes? Just imagine Liza stretching, bending, and giving little glimpses of her stocking tops—fantastic, that's what I say.

Mystery Models and Random Prints

Yesterday, I was digging through a large box of mixed prints that I have acquired over the years, often in small lots as part of other collections. For the most part, I have no idea of their original origins. These prints are mostly originals from the 1960s and '70s. Sadly, most can't be shown on this site, but there are still quite a few that I can display. Therefore, I've decided to spend a couple of months showcasing some of them on the blog.

The others, I may show on the Brazen blog, which I am determined to update with more regular posts. All prints are up for sale and will gradually be made available under the relevant category on the BrazenBooks site. 

To kick us off, here's a nice original small print from the 1960s that would have been sold as part of a small set. All the others I have featuring this girl are slightly more revealing. 

What I would like to say is that most of these are of unnamed models. If you recognise anybody and can add a name, please add it to the comments or email me via the contact page.

Smoking Girl

I only have these four pictures of this girl with no name from the private collection of negatives. I am going to call her the "smoking girl." I like her; she has a pretty face and a lovely smile, and as so many of them do, she gives us that knowing look that says, "Look what I might have on offer." Enjoy the pictures from a time that was suggestive, teasing, and just fun.

Vintage Stockings Archive - Amateur Prints

While rooting through some folders on the computer, I discovered some scans I did some years ago of some small prints I had. Looking at them again, they all look quite amateur.
I know nothing more about them but will post the better ones here from time to time. 

Nice little set of pictures of a lady messing about in the countryside, lifting her skirt and showing us her bottom and stockings. All good fun, I am sure that led to even more fun later.

Maureen - Giving Us a Flash

Great picture of Maureen crossing her legs. It’s just a pity her feet have been cropped out of the original picture. But she certainly looks rather stunning with her hair up and that black choker. She has that kind of knowing look on her face, aware that she is flashing her stocking tops at us.
