Maggie McCully

Maggie McCully – Back Office Beauty

Another great picture from Tocofan, I think taken from a contact sheet. Maggie McCully is standing on what must be, by now, that infamous back office ToCo table that has been seen so many times in their magazines. Maggie has a slightly odd expression, which is possibly why it was never selected to be published. However, she certainly has a fantastic pair of legs hidden under that very typical style of dress that she seemed to favour so much.

Remember

We thought we couldn't take our leave of old readers without bringing to their eyes a photograph of one of the most popular of all our models, MAGGIE McCULLY.
Maggie was an absolute winner all the way and American readers even mailed her bouquets.

Beautiful Britons No 252 - November 1976 (Final Issue)

Maggie McCully's appearance in the last issue of Beautiful Britons brings with it a bittersweet farewell to an era that some may argue had long expired. However, count me as one who disagrees. While we are well aware of the flaws that plagued the 1960s and 70s, one can't help but wonder if our present times are any better. No mobile phones, no internet, no Tinder - just three measly channels on the television. But amidst those limitations, there were tantalizing glimpses of stocking tops, enticing us with a desire for more. Oh, if only today held that same allure. Here's to Maggie and her ToCo comrades, a toast to the days gone by. So, come on, girls, let's reignite that enchantment and bring back the magic.

Here She Is Then

We've been asked so often for a feature on MAGGIE McCULLY that in the end we really went digging for photographs of this photogenic delight.

It was what they call a successful dig.

For new readers who expressed so much interest in her, this is our Maggie. She's a secretary and a lover of summer holidays in hot sunshine. She's dark, brown-eyed and beautiful.

And she loves modern beat, good films, historical novels and the view of Hampstead Heath on a spring morning.

Don't get too infatuated, Ernest, it won't do you any good. Just admire her from afar and stick to the girl in the grocery shop. That way you could get extra sugar.

Wild and Woolly

Not really all that wild - just excitingly civilised - is gay MAGGIE McCULLY, but her cosy top is very woolly, and Maggie is well wrapped up in it, don't you think?

Maggie lives in Surrey and spends five days a week as an assistant secretary with high hopes of becoming the boss's No. I in due course. The job of being No. I secretary is one which Maggie will fit as charmingly as she fits a swimsuit that measures 35"-22"-36".

One of the intriguing aspects of commerce today is the fact that secretaries seem to possess not only the necessary academic qualifications for their jobs but also the physical qualifications that are a must for pin-up girls.

Dear Sir Harry - Is your secretary photogenic and glamorous? If not, why not? Come, spare a moment from your colossal estimates to look at Maggie, and then ask yourself why you don't have someone as cute as this to keep your pencils sharpened.

Maggie is lively, lovely, and lissom. She is also gay, gallivanting, and gorgeous loves dancing and dining, bright lights, and sandy beaches. Has black hair, brown eyes, and long legs. An absolute tonic at a party. And, to cut a long story short, is a perfect eyeful.

Maggie

“Have you dropped her down a mineshaft?’’ A question, that, which is typical of many we’ve had thrown at us in connection with MAGGIE McCULLY. Although we’ve never said so, we now admit that we do indeed make a habit of dropping all Maggies down mineshafts. Girls like to go a long way in this modern world, particularly if they are beautiful, like Maggie McCully, and we’re sure the way from the top to a bottom of a mineshaft is very long indeed.

“No, seriously, you don’t mean all that jazz." Listen, Buster, there’s no jazz about it. Ask Maggie.

"All right. Did you get dropped down a mineshaft, Maggie?"

“But of course.”

“What on earth was it like?”

“Narrow. I was scraped all the way from top to bottom.”

Good old Maggie.

The Tops

Right at the top of the pin-up poll is MAGGIE McCULLY favourite of thousands.

There are other girls who “send” us and other girls who engender the old “double-take" when we pass them in the street, but Maggie is way up on the list of those who make us really whistle.

Before you articulately express your own variations of a whistle, kindly count to ninety-nine. It prevents you falling apart.

Summer In Winter

THERE are no leaves on the trees, the fern, the bracken and the gorse are at their dullest, and the winter touches the landscape with frosty fingers. But brave as a lark and gay as a linnet out comes beautiful MAGGIE McCULLY in colourful dress and white frills, and winter suddenly takes on a touch of summer. The birds sing, the robins scrap and the sun shines. That smile of Maggie's is a magnet.

Maggie is a girl of Surrey, with a five-day working week in London.

Maggie in the picture and is not admiring her pretty legs but is looking for a ladder in her nylons. Twiggy trees are as much of a menace in winter as summer.

A Work of Art

A work of art more often than not is something they put on a pedestal or hang on a wall and is frequently called a museum piece. There’s the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo and MAGGIE McCULLY, only don’t try hanging Maggie on a wall, even at a Bond Street gallery, or you’ll find yourself in a six-foot frame and with a bump on your head that’ll fit a half-pint skid-lid.

Of course, if you’re a lover of art and subject to fragilistic trembling’s in the presence of the Mona Lisa or the Venus de Milo, you won’t be without palpitations in the presence of Maggie, either. As the epitome of all that is inspiring about the modern girl,

Maggie is even better than a work of art.

She lives and breathes and loves a sleigh ride.

Stripe Me Pink

Well that’s what Maggie McCully said when she fell half way down the stairs. It's not so much a matter of stripes as of legs, really, but as Maggie's sweater is just as eye-catching as her legs, who cares to define the difference?

Just to confirm how cute is the sweater, here are a couple of shots of Maggie’s stripes in close-up. These indicate that if Maggie has anything in common with a zebra, it’s nothing that makes us prefer the latter.

Stripes apart, these pictures tell you exactly why Maggie wins every leg competition she enters—and you can say that again and mean it.

Anytime you spot a picture on the stairs which is as good as any picture of Maggie on the stairs, we’d like to know about it. We’d hate to miss any picture as good as Maggie makes.

Maggie McCully

Winter Frills

The background is Surrey in winter, the girl with the frills is cute MAGGIE McCULLY, the hat exclusive. What makes a better picture?

Maggie lives in Surrey herself, and is gay enough to do a little tree climbing in her best Sunday dress. She is a short-hand-typist who has just begun to do a little part-time modelling, and we must say that hat is as photogenic as Maggie herself.

There's a touch of old Ireland in that smile and a whisper of rustling nylon in the frills. Oh, to be in Surrey now that Maggie’s here!

A girl sitting on a tree is elegant when it's Maggie— and if the elegance looks somewhat disarranged when Maggie falls off, who could make the bump take on the same gaiety as she does?

In fact, Maggie turns the fall and the bump into a picture of a girl sitting pretty. Maggie’s vitalistics? 36-23-36.
